HARTLEY VALLEY AT RISK!

There are serious threats to the Hartley Valley from the RTA’s proposal for a four-lane highway through the valley.
This project is forcing the people of the Valley to do all in our power to see that the diversion around Mt Victoria continues north past Hartley Valley to form a Northern Route across the Newnes plateau to the west.
The whole of the Blue Mountains is at risk from the proposed use of the highway for B-Double trucks. These monsters are 26 meters long, and discussion with the RTA reveals that they are planning for 4,000 B-Doubles to pass through the mountain townships per day.

4,000 of these B-Doubles will thunder through the mountains every day

B-Double freight trains are taller than your house
Newnes is a road for the future,
the Valley route would be a road through the past
