Considering a Newnes Plateau alternative corridor

Some community members requested the RTA examine the viability of an alternative highway upgrade corridor from Marrangaroo (to the west of Lightow) to Newnes Plateau, Bell, across the Darling Causeway to east of Mount Victoria (an overall length of approximately 40 kilometres).
The RTA acknowledges the significant support for this request. A skilled transport planner will be engaged soon to investigate the viability of a Newnes Plateau alternative route.
Receive feedback on issues that need to be considered as part of the Newnes Plateau alternative corridor.
Community meeting
A community meeting was held on 2 September 2008 to:
- Provide update on current Mt Victoria to Lithgow investigations.
- Provide information on the Newnes Plateau alternative corridor study.
