• Are there any issues that we have left out or not considered? If so, what are these?
• Is there any other information we need to know at this time, prior to field studies
  commencing in early 2009?

• Completing a feedback form at one of the community meetings, workshops or displays.

4. Your MessageI object to heavy freight being moved through the Blue Mountains by road transport, and especially the use of B-Double trucks over 19 metres. It is unsafe, unsustainable and totally inappropriate in our World Heritage Area. We demand that our leaders upgrade the railways to the north and south of the Mountains as the only viable long distance freight transport option for the 21st century. I also object to the RTA's intended desecration of the Hartley Valley, 'the most historic valley in Australia' for the sole purpose of completing the upgrade of the highway for 'the operation of heavy freight vehicles between Sydney and the Central West'. As peak oil is imminent, any investment in major road haulage routes would be, at this time, a waste of money that should be allocated to the rail network.

Your voice needs to be heard at these meetings. The RTA needs to know why the protection and maintenance of the historic and cultural integrity of The Hartley Valley is so important!
